2026 Community Play Session #3

Theatre in the X is embarking on their second community created play process! Similar to the process in 2019 - 2021 that resulted in the creation of “The West Philly Meeting,” we’ll be having a series of four Community Play Sessions that will result in an original play created by community input around the prompt of What Now: 2026, examining what America’s 250th anniversary means to our communities.
We can’t create this piece without you. After our first two Community Play Sessions, we’re excited to share what we’ve begun shaping from your stories, insights, and conversations.
Join us on January 22nd at the Painted Bride Project Space as we gather to hear excerpts from the developing script. We’ll eat, drink, and—if you’re willing—invite attendees to read from early drafts.
Together, we’ll continue the conversations that will become the foundation of the original play premiering in Spring 2026.
