Theatre in the X is casting local non-union actors for their upcoming production of "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" by Don Evans, directed by Maureen Henighan Booker.
A middle-class black family in Philadelphia get their lives shaken up when a smart-talking niece from the country comes to live with them. This comedic play set in the 1970s deals with the clash between middle-class and working-class Black folks with sharp wit, a whirlwind of humor, and heart.

Myra Harrison - a well kept Black woman in her late forties
Felix Harrion - Myra’s “all American colored-boy” son of nineteen. He is “preppy” and hates it.
Beverly Harrison - An attractive Black young woman of twenty who lets baggy jeans hide her razor sharp common sense
Li’l Bits - Black. Felix’s streetwise girlfriend
Mrs. Caldwell - Black. Li’l Bits hardworking mother
Mozelle - Black. A fine looking beautician who could pass for anything
